From berry lips to flushed cheeks! Here are the top 5 makeup trends accoring to the latest New York Fashion Week:
90S LIPS
This season presented a sea of lip color that would definitely get Angela Chase’s stamp of approval: from ripe berry lips at Carolina Herrera to plum black lips at Marc Jacobs, to oxblood red at Phillip Lim.
GRAPHIC LINER
Tweak the classic cat eye by opting for a more straight across swipe of black kohl like Oscar de la Renta’s show. This is a more modern way to wear liner that elongates and lifts the eye and adds intrigue to the face. However, some people would consider it too extreme!
BRONZE SHADOW
Metallic eyeshadows continue to be popular, but this season many makeup artists go for bronze rather than classic gold or silver. The color really warms up the face and works paired with the earlier mentioned ’90s lip color.
EASY SMOKY EYES
I always love when a sexy smoky eye makes an appearance on the runway. Though sometimes a dramatic eye can be intimidating, this season at Diane von Furstenberg makeup artist Pat McGrath created a diffused look using just black and brown liner that she called a “smoky eye girls would do at home.”
FLUSHED CHEEKS
This season a handful of designers tasked their makeup artists with creating a look that many of those attending fashion week already had: flushed cheeks from the winter cold. At J.Crew they wanted the models to look like they just stepped off the slopes, while Kate Spade had a look that was all about a girl on a brisk wintry walk.
