As with every season, there are few new trends this summer which will certainly influence your wardrobe. From sandals to rucksacks.. to dresses.. you can see below a list of the most popular trends for summer 2016!
If you are thinking of what new to try on this season, here are some of the biggest fashion trends of 2016. Which ones will make the biggest impact on your wardrobes, however, is entirely up to you.
A prairie dress
The ultimate festival look for this summer – a drop-waist floral dress that might also have been seen on The Little House on the Prairie.
The slip dress
Underwear as outerwear is a big trend for this season. We have seen it in the spring collections too and it is growing even stronger this summer. The slip dress has a unique breezy, understated and effortlessly sexy appeal. It is perfect for the warm summer nites by the seaside.
Chunky sandals
These sandals started being popular last summer, but this year the trend has grown to an extreme level. You can see them in every shop! Chanel, Kenzo and Burberry have some brilliant options this summer. What I like about the chunky sandals is that they are definitely statement shoes – they can’t stay unnoticed.
Off the shoulder top
The cool shoulder trend is still big this summer. Shoulder-baring is sexy without being obvious & chic without being attention-grabbing. There’s a breezy nonchalance to off-the-shoulder looks that’s difficult to find fault with. It is a perfect trend for your summer holiday or for a cocktail night in the city.
Rucksacks
The humble rucksack has never looked chicer! Burberry and Fendy have one of the best rucksacks this season, but of course, there are many more affordable high street versions this summer. I love the rucksacks mainly because they can make ones look very extravagant, especially if combined with a dress.
The denim mini skirt
Do you remember that time in your teenage years when it was all about the denim mini skirt? Well here is a massive blast from the past! Get your denim skirts out of the closet as the are a BIG hit this summer.
A logo T-shirt
Logos are back in a BIG way for spring/summer 2016 – a trend by Vetements’ now sold-out DHL T-shirt. But this summer it is more about irony..and fashion loves irony. It’s also part of the big 90s revival – as French Connection’s relaunch of the FCUK T-shirts prove.
A ruffled dress
these dresses certainly look as if they belong in a modern day fairytale. Dramatic, beautiful and with cascading ruffles – they are a must-have for anyone with a penchant for luxury and drama.
