I am sure you already know how much I love wearing white, no matter what the season is!
That is why I am once again all in white for this week’s look.
This week’s look is inspired by a very talented swiss designer – Julia Winkler.
The look is part of one of her recent collections, inspired by the world of
fencing. The unconventional sport has a spare elegance and an ephemeral grace, all in white. The collection’s forms and the specially designed prints reflect elements such as the power and speed of fencing right down to the smallest details, which gives the collection a strong but still delicate shape.
The main idea behind fencing, of duelling, has a very romantic history. Julia Winkler has incorporated her own interpretation of romanticism into the shapes and dimensions of this suit. It’s white color emphasises the feminine form with unusual details such as connecting bands, plastron and folds in the trousers, Thus it acquires a certain poetry, which is both demanding and feminine, as it can be seen in my look.
The cotton material out of which this suit is made gives the look a very distinctive character as the natural fibres create a beautiful drape and a luxurious
wearability. What I also love about this suit is its abstract shape and the sophistication which it entails.
