Chelsea Dress Coat

This week I am wearing a very special outfit made by the incredible British brand Maquien.

It is a coat dress, which is the type of garment that gives you sophisticated glamour without putting too much effort into your look!

Maquien is a Yorkshire based brand designing, making and selling ladies wear and men’s jackets, which provides its customers with top quality service. It is the type of brand that will always go the extra mile to make sure the customer is satisfied with their long lasting garments, carefully all made in the UK.

What I love about the brand is that the biggest part of its business is based on making pieces specially designed for the customer – jackets, skirts, coats, waistcoats, and shirts from the vast choice of cloths and trimmings Maquien’s offer. Stylish and practical is their slogan, and you can certainly see that from my custom made Chelsea Dress Coat.

I love this piece because it is very elegant and flexible to wear.Every little detail is perfectly designed to make the garment look as stylish and classy as possible, but in the same time very practical. The contrast between the white collar and the pink color of the dress are well synchronized and the nacre buttons are perfectly complimenting the two colors.

The back is full, swingy and gorgeous and a fraction longer than the front to give more swing. It is not very fitted but that gives you the flexibility to wear it as a coat. It does come with a slim belt, so that can also be used to make it look more fitted. It can be worn as a dress fastened, or with something underneath, and open of course, so very flexible.

It is a perfect garment for the UK summer days, but can be worn in the Autumn and Spring seasons too.

My Chelsea Dress Coat was a one-off special garment, but Maquien will be having the same model in velvet to order for the Winter, which will certainly make your look quite special. It will also be available in various tweeds and wool clothes, and crepe as that would hang beautifully too. In wool, tweed it would be with velvet facings £465, or £440 normal facings, or in crepe it would be priced at £385.
