We spend one week in New York and it was simply not enough to do and see all the things we had on our agenda. The city is full of great things to see and cool stuff to do, but just as every cosmopolitan place, you have to spend a significant amount of time to be able to do everything you have planned!
One of the coolest things we did while in NYC was to go for dinner at the Asiate restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The panoramic views over Hyde Park and Manhattan from the french windows of the restaurant are absolutely stunning! Of course, the views were not the only reason why we loved this experience so much!
Asiate is a restaurant, which is an artistic blend of seasonal flavors! It is
We had the Chef´s tasting menu with wine pairing for each meal, which I would highly recommend, as the wines are carefully selected for each dish and make the taste just incredible! Another reason why I would recommend you to go for the wine pairing is that Asiate is a winner of the Wine Spectator Best Restaurants Award. The wine wall at the entrance of the restaurant showcases 1,200 bottles from around the world and is a focal point of the dining space. The wine team curates a collection featuring classic bottlings while also exploring more eclectic and lesser-known wineries, so the experience you will get from the wine pairing is truly rewarding!
The Chef´s Tasting Menu consists of the following dishes prepared with fresh ingredients:
Maine Lobster
Carrot Aioli • Heart of Palm • Ginger
Saint Jacques
Granny Smith Apple • Hedge Hog Mushroom • Turnip
Sweet Potato
Cranberry • Walnut • Goat Milk
Foie Gras Torchon
Costal Herbs • Marcona Almond | Strawberry Butter
Wagyu Beef
Pommes Fondant • Broccoli • Mole Verde
Strawberry Shortcake
Pink Velvet Cake • Lime • Crème Fraiche Ice Cream
We absolutely loved all dishes, but my absolute favourite were the sweet potato ( I am a total potato lover) and the Maine Lobster (I usually prefer seafood over meat). The way the many is designed, however, gives the chance for any type of food lover to enjoy it. The service is also outstanding, so if you are in Manhattan guys, you have to pay Asiate a visit!
Love,
Tina J xx
